Good luck to everyone and I will, talk to you again in about 3 years.

Eugene, In case we don't cross paths in the next 3 years, I wish you well, and your portfolio a speedy recovery. Though I am mildly disappointed there's not a disk drive in that list, good luck, anyway.

Gene, with little prospect for good news for a while, and present international tensions with no easy solution, and April 15 still 10 days away, the chance is greater short term for trend continuation, than for trend reversal, i believe.

Translation: i think you can get them cheaper if you wait a few days. <g>

You sure have cajones however. <g> Me? I'm staying the course and selling only when fundamental outlook changes: cmrc, ppro and qcom (till crisis resolves).

Good luck.

Gene: Good luck -- I assume you just want to get this over with, buy in and watch. Assuming the debt load of the telcoms does not put them "up against the wall", which is, of course, a real possibility, then perhaps it will be as you say. The market stopped trading on fundamentals for a few years and started to look for them again last spring -- but this winter the fundamentals vanished just as the market thought it was getting close to trading on fundamentals -- a market that wants to trade on fundamentals that it cannot find is without a compass. As I said, good luck. A rate cut Friday would make you our "market timer of the year" even if you don't apply for the award :)

FWIW, nice year you had this past week. By my estimates you should be up an average of about 50% on those purchases if you made them right at the time you posted. The only bad news is that such vicious spikes don't tend to sustain themselves very long...

ek, i'd take my initial investment off the books and buy those cds back and pay back that mortgage. let the 50% ride if you are still bullish. otherwise, i'd sell that, too and enjoy the proceeds! best of luck...
