impristine, you think i haven't had managers before? -vbg-

the typical manager is pretty poor and isn't hands on. they get the position to get away from production, not to bring production to management. sr management hires folks that make them feel good, not the folks that best know mfg.

that being said, this spells opportunity for people who are hard headed enough to create an opportunity for themselves (i don't think you doubt i'm hard headed ;-)

i play to win everything i do. i do what works. if it doesn't work, i troubleshoot why and do new things to get the results i want. tanstaafl and i appreciate the work the work that goes into success.

you say i never admit being wrong. every time i do something new it is an admission that what i did before had some level of wrong attached to it. no shame in that b/c i worry about tomorrow not yesterday.

bezos is an excellent salesman. no doubt. he will go out and mislead people to sell what he produces. that is what sales people do. only one company can have the best cost / benefit ratio for a particular application and the rest are blowing smoke to one degree or another.

bezos is great at blowing smoke. gdr and i are people who don't want to be *sold* anything. we want the facts and want to *buy* what best suits us. bezos makes it impossible to know the financial condition of the company and we don't like people who hide things.

will you buy a car without seeing it? bezos would try to sell it to you w/o you seeing it. i'd say you were nuts. the car would end up being a lemon and you'd yell at me. go figure...

He's got a lot of skills that will take him far.

Could you please name some beyond these:
1. Great press releases to move stock prices.
2. The ability to get the investor excited enough to give him and his firm money.
3. Using statistics improperly with a smile hoping most are too stupid to see the true picture.

I would really be interested in the skills to which you made reference.
