Now I have 1000 shares but my 9 bagger has come round trip and is just a 3 bagger.

Actually, it was a near 18-bagger for you when it hit 90 last year. If you had sold even a small portion at or near the top... well, I've said it enough times!

LSI Logic Says to Close U.S. Plant, Take Charge
(http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20010411/tc/lsilogic_restructuring_dc_1.html)
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Semiconductor manufacturer LSI Logic Corp.
(NYSE:LSI - news) said on Wednesday that it would close a Colorado Springs, Colo. plant to concentrate production of silicon wafers in two other plants equipped with next-generation technology.

The company said that it would take a restructuring charge of between $120 million and $150 million in its second quarter to write off fixed assets and cover severance
and other costs.

Some of the 500 employees at the plant will be offered transfers to LSI Logic's leading-edge plant in Gresham, Ore. but the remainder will be laid off, the company said. No final determination on the number of layoffs has been made, a spokeswoman for the company said.

LSI Logic, which makes chips for communications and data storage applications, said the plant closure came in response to the economic slowdown and reduced demand as customers run down existing inventories.

``This decision is precipitated by the weakening national economy, sharp decline in end-demand and the buildup of inventory in the supply chain,'' LSI Logic Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Wilfred Corrigan said in a statement.

The Colorado Springs plant, which has been running since 1983, is capable of producing integrated circuits (ICs) with line widths of 0.35 microns, now a lagging technology.

LSI Logic's other plants in Tsukuba, Japan, outside Tokyo, and in Oregon are capable of producing chips at between 0.25 and 0.13 microns, the spokeswoman said.

A micron is a millionth of a meter or 1/25,000 of an inch.
