ST trading Buying calls today looks dangerous. If we were bouncing at 40, that might be a good play, but we aren't. Looks like we're heading toward a close that takes out all lows except the lowest 12/00 low. I suppose there is a chance we re-establish support here, but it's equally possible we just keep on sliding. On a lot of the boards, the semi-equips are being mentioned as the last overvalued sector, and good short candidates. I think I'll just stand aside, and wait till things get clearer. I was afraid to hold shorts when the stock was closing above 50, and I'm equally afraid to be long when it looks like support at 40 may be failing.

ST - Trading You can add me to the list of those who bailed a bit early on their short plays, (although I'm certainly not complaining). While there's probably more money to be made, shorting at current levels appears a bit risky now. I'm getting my ducks in line and setting targets for the long side. If I wasn't convinced we were soon going to hear a warning or two from the majors out there, I doubt I'd be able to resist beginning to buy a little at these levels. Patience is going to be difficult going forward from here, but I think I can make it through one more day at least. By Monday I may not be so strong. AdvocateDevil
