There were still some isolationism at the start of WWII. Don't know how strong it was, but some anti-FDR Army officers apparently stole top-secret documents that revealed our plans in case of war, and sent them to three 'isolationist' newspapers - the Chicago Tribune, the New York Daily News, and the Washington Times-Herald. They all published them simultaneously on Dec 4th to prove that FDR was a warmonger.

Now, I would DEFINITELY have considered that to be treason. Wonder what happened to those officers...
