It's more than that - they want the right to charge you far more, and you be unable to purchase from the cheaper U.S.

There's a simple truth that I observe for hardware purchases: Don't buy crippled hardware! I will apply this to any hard discs that come out with that stupid CPRM or whatever copy protection bullshit.
