Dustin ...

>>> The problem comes when I go to enable both monitors. When click OK at the Display Properties-Settings screen everything freezes. ALT-CNTL-DEL shows that Msgsrv32 is not responding

I can now address your problem with the trouble pinpointed...
of course, you might not like the solution ...

this vid card is NOT multiple monitor compatible with the OS you are running ...

that is the plain and simple fact ...

get another video card ...
that is the solution ...

don't throw away the card ... it could well work under different circumstances ..
in another box running a dif OS or lots of things ...
but it is NOT going to function with multiple monitors in yours ....

it is possible even that it will function under dual usage, but not under three ...

That old saw about you MUST have all vid cards the same is NOT TRUE ...
but
early in the multiple monitor days MS even had a list of cards that would function ...
and I never found one that didn't .....
if it were on that list ..

Not to bore you ...
but
couple of years ago I got a great deal on six Diamond Stealth PCI vid cards ...
I immediately dropped two into a box I had along side a Jaton Trident AGP ....
had 3 full functioning CRTs ...

a buddy of mine wanted to do the same thing ..
and he said he wanted a couple of the Daimonds ..he had a Tiger Direct box using the same Trident AGP as mine ..
we put in one Diamond ... would NOT work ..
we put in another Diamond ... would NOT work
we put in yet another Diamond ... would NOT work ....

so I found him an couple of old 2meg Trident and they worked fine ....
he would NOT let me have the Diamonds back ..
said he'd made a deal and that I wouldn't have purchased that many if he'd not told me to get him a couple ..
then six months later, we built him a box .... TYAN mb ...
hey ... the Diamond Stealth cards worked fine ... and he is using three of them today ... in the third box since the TYAN ...
I even looked at them running night before last when I visited him to get some data on hooking up a multiple cable hub system ..

so the card is ok ... just in your case it won't function properly ...

if you do purchase one , try to find the same card as the PCI that is working fine ...
the system seems to handle that one fine ....
