Indeed, the market wants to rally on the fact that Michael Dell* says that, at this point in the quarter**, Dell is on-track to meet revenue***/earnings**** projections...

Is that enough *'s for ya'?

* Michael Dell has flat-out missed on his "predictions" 4 times in the last 2 years

** Dell's quarter end April 30. According to Niles, 40% of the quarter is booked in April. No way Dell can know If they are going to make it at this point. Dell's comment is pure analyst juju. Given the horrible environment, any purchasing manager worth his salt is going to make his Dell rep totally grub in price to make the sale. Margins go ka-plooey this quarter. Also, investment gains ???

*** 9% y-o-y IF they make it

**** y-o-y quarterly earning estimate DROPPING from 19cents to 17cents.

Dell has also said that they have 0 guidance for the rest of year. This is a reason to jack the futures?

The markets could have a "let off the steam" rally. But nothing has fundamentally changed here.
