I've seen it in business; two leaders that together get a lot done. Lane and Ellison. Gates and Ballmer. Jobs and Wozniak. One usually the glamorous or at least aggressive one; the other more thoughtful, and usually the one that does the dirty work. They usually grate at each other, and the 'dirty worker' usually resents the other, but they both understand the benefits of the relationship.

I not really sure, but I think Clinton and Gingrich, with all their faults, seemed to change a mindset in government. But, maybe it was just the tremendous economy that covered a lot of mistakes...
