I wasn't aware that governors introduced legislation in our form of government. I think you'll find that Assemblyman Steve Peace, a DEMORAT from San Diego wrote the legislation. Also if you do some digging, his contributors are a who's who of the utility industry. He was hailed at the time as one of the only State Assemblyman who was intellectual enough to come up with such a brilliant plan. LOL. Co-sponsors of the bill are just as guilty and on the same payroll. So don't be pointing the finger just at the last person who signed the bill.

Don't blame the liberals for CA energy mess

Environmentalists forced the shutdown of one of the San Onofre generators and the Arroyo Seco (I think it's called that) due to fear of nuclear. The power lost from these two alone (enough for 3 million homes) would have provided enough electricity to avoid the recent blackouts.

>>Don"t blame the liberals for CA energy mess. It was REPUBLICAN GOVENOR WILSON who pushed for DEREGULATION of power plants which got us in
this mess so his friends can reap bigger profit.. <<

Your confusing a poorly implemented plan with what is the real "energy crisis" in CA. The deregulation plan as implemented has caused a major strain to the principle operators in terms of financial, but the "crisis" is the lack of energy. That lack of power is the result of supply not keeping pace with demand. There is ONLY one specific cause of that problem, push from the left to implement NIMBY (not in my back yard). A properly implemented deregulated plan does work, look at states that did it correctly. Which proves anyone that wants to depend on government to do something for them is reaching for empty promises.
