Well, you know my view on the accuracy of movies. It isn't flattering. The most confounding act to me was keeping the emissary outside the ambassador's door until many hours after the bombing took place. But I hesitate to place any credibility on the source (Hollywood). As for your opinion on what FDR would not have done, what do you think Clinton would have done in the same situation? I think he would have done exactly what FDR is accused of doing.

I was just thinking what we could do in order to influence China to give our plane and people back. Here's what I came up with: 1. Apologize for the death of one of their pilots by saying. "It is with deep regret and sorrow that a United States P3 aircraft had a collision, and one of China's pilots lost their life. In the future, since this area is such a busy fly zone, more of our P3's will be escorted by F-15 jets in order to prevent such terrible accidents from occurring. 2. Seek a joint resolution from the U.N. condemning the holding of American servicemen and women IAW international law. 3. Set a deadline, 24 hours, then freeze all Chinese assets held in third and fourth party corporate entities. 4. Withdraw most favored trading status at the same time, unless our people and plane are turned over. 5. Openly deploy two Carrier task groups in the waters surrounding our plane and people, being careful to remain 12.1 miles from land. Conduct training flight ops missions day and night. 6. Push the diplomatic efforts with China and at the U.N. What say you Neo? Mike
