Bombing at this stage is a bad idea. After all, would we be any more likely to get our people back if we bombed them? Sure, you could say they're casualties of war and all, but what would they be dying for? Our nations ego?

The goal should be to get our plane and people back. Things can be done after the fact in order to set the Chinese on the straight and lawful road.

Bombing would only play into the hands of people around the world who are jealous about our nations success. And give them an excuse to toss stones are way. Class envy is a reality from nation to nation, as it is from people to people.

One thing I think we need to keep in mind is that China doesn't have the kind of open borders, immigration, and freedom to come and go from their country the way we do. And because of that, they're very sensitive toward a military aircraft landing on their soil. Even if it was for an emergency landing. Seems to me, if the Soviets had the same thing happen during the cold war, while flying down the East Coast, I believe we would board the craft and at least check it out for a few days.

Our service men and women are a different story. They should be returned pronto! No excuse, no obfuscation, no BS. The next flight out would be fine...
