That doesn't matter in the slightest. What is critical to Demos is to smash the tax cutting. If they can do that and slow the recovery, it means Bush will have a harder time on other issues. It gains the Demos the time to reach for that all important election of '02. If they can retake Congress they can put an end to this ridiculous escapade into Voodoo Economics and go back to the depression that they seek. Once the depression is well in place, they can get a Demo back in the Presidency. Then they can set about the big task of re-inventing the old rust bucket, union dominated, deal making, corrupt, hyper-inflating glory that was the past. Never underestimate how well socialism plays to the public.
