Oh please. That's ridiculous. Lucent was saddled with debt from the AT&T spinoff, then they dug the hole even deeper with funny accounting and sales to crappy customers. Now they have 8 billion in debt. That's why they are on the verge of bankruptcy.

Cisco on the other hand, has $15 billion in cash and investments, not to mention a ton of A/R. Cisco HAS NO DEBT. The worst that can happen to Cisco is they become a smaller company in terms of revenues. They are still very profitable and have tremendous margins for a manufacturing company. Cisco is VERY far from going bankrupt. They'd have to start losing money first.

I think comments like this make it clear we are indeed reaching a bottom.

while i will not find cisco's share price attractive unless it is in the mid-single digits, i don't think they are a bankruptcy candidate. you might want to study some accounting fundamentals before making such statements.

"How about CSCO bankrupt in two years time?"

Just as when the market was soaring many make wild upward predictions so the opposite happens in a falling market.
