Actually, it was the astronomer, not the prince. Since he was not haughty, but not exactly self- deprecating, I am not sure how the idea of meekness would apply. As for the meek inheriting the Earth, it is a constant Biblical theme that the lowly shall be raised. One reason, I suppose, is to show the power of God. Another might be that the meek will be grateful, and not become deluded that they are Gods, like the Roman Emperors.........
