Samsung Electronics Posts Monthly DRAM Sales of 100 Million Units
April 5, 2001 (SEOUL) -- Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. reported that the production and sales figures of its DRAM chips have surpassed 100 million units a month.

The record-high rise in DRAM production and sales can be attributed to the company's sales strategy, which focuses more on lucrative products including Rambus DRAMs, DDR DRAMs and 256Mb DRAMs.

Samsung Electronics added that it plans to raise its market control to 50 percent regarding the Rambus and DDR DRAM market this year.

The world DRAM market is expected to expand by 53 percent on an annual comparison to 5.6 billion units this year.
