TSO: The only reason I'm buying anything here, you understand, is 'cause I heard a rumor on CNBC (apparently the last word on stock market expertise) that techs are a bargain right now! Well sir, I immediately went to the bomb shelter (not easy when one resides in the penthouse of a condo), shovelled my way through all the (as yet) unused Y2K emergency provisions (freeze-dried food, gallons of Perrier and the odd libation) and plundered my secret hoard of Krugerrands which my friendly neighbourhood precious metals dealer was happy to purchase for greenbacks. Furiously biking to my broker, I handed in the loot and left instructions to buy anything that CNBC recommended. Wolf p.s. Many of my lowball bids are being ignored--darn that Michael Dell for ruining my party. Oh well, there's always the second Qtr. earnings warning season...
