MIR Did they spin off SO's international assets into MIR?

If so you may want to evaluate them very closely. Not many regulated utlility spin offs did well on their foreign adventures. EIX, GPU , REI,...

There is a bill in the California legislature to create a windfall profits tax on the generators retroactive to Jan 1. They are discussing what is a "reasonable" profit in their typical socialist style. Bottom line is that power producers could get hurt, even though California will get hurt worse.

Would rather own the NG producers, because they can tell California to take a hike. There is a serious shortage of both NG and capacity into California. If the legislature starts screwing around with these guys, they'll prolong the shortages for years because there won't be sufficient incentive to expand pipeline capacity and suppliers will sell their NG elsewhere. It's a sellers market.
