... eh twit ... not to beat on a dead horse ... but revisiting buying stocks at target prices ... ... from my February 5 target list (as well as one of the four I am still very interested in owning) ... Sycamore Networks <SCMR>- one of the very hot optical equipment networking stocks - founded and managed by the same management team that founded and managed Cascade Communications into a very profitable story for many investors (not me - it was before my awareness) - has some of the top state-of-the-art products and a wonderful future - also important to me is that it is located less than 20 miles from my home. I have confidence in them and met their President, Dan Smith during some CEO interviews I did in 1996 - Dan is sharp - their two optical technical executives were recruited out of Lincoln Labs, which is part of MIT - highly respected company and management team. SCMR price, 02/05/01, 29.00 target price for July, 2001, 18.00 actual price at the close, 04/05/01, 9.06 followed by a serious warning tonight ... thestreet.com last after hours trade at 5:32 EDT ... 6.125 and still falling ... will I buy it now? ... look at this chart ... siliconinvestor.com ... is it a good buy now? ... I do not know ... but what if I buy it now, and it goes to 4, and stays where there for two years? ... Ken Wilson EDIT ... OK ... so I could not resist ... but I only bought 150 shares @ 6 1/2 ... will probably sell them tomorrow
