The downcycle in tech stocks started practically the day the Justice Department announced their intention to break up Microsoft. With an unlimited budget at their disposal, they've been successful in draining nearly 5 billion dollars from Microsoft, and transferring that hard-earned cash to high-priced lawyers who paid for it with campaign contributions. I wonder if those clowns at Oracle, and AOL/Time Warner, along with and every other small tech company who loudly laughed at Microsoft's attack, are happy about the results nearly 1 year later. The stock market has paid them back for this outrageous attack. As it has many investors who sat idly by and complained very little, because of jealousy, and the joy of seeing the richest man in the world getting some comeuppance. What they failed to see was the broader implications of our government assaulting one of the most important engines of economic growth. I ask you, what other nation would be that stupid? Instead of attacking such an amazing companies success in the world economy, every other nation on earth would have been applauding their success, and standing side-by-side with the leaders of such a company with pride. But no, these leftists "we need to even the playing field", Clinton appointees, (meaning take everyone down to the size of least common denominator) felt it just wasn't right to have a company kicking serious ass in the world economy, and growing 40% per year. Why? Simply because Bill Gates wasn't opening his checkbook wide enough toward the Democrat party. That's why....You can bet if Barbara Striesand, Ted Turner or Dan Rather were running Microsoft, they would have taken no such action. We are all part of the same system, an attack on Microsoft, was an attack on American businesses. I remember thinking at the time, is this the beginning of a huge tech correction? Being of the optimistic spirit, I hoped it wasn't. History has proven otherwise.
