John: Regarding Dell, it means nothing of course, but the latest drop in prices hit the sweet spot for our IT guys. We just placed an order for twenty laptops which had been pushed off since December. Everything we needed and for 300 bucks less than we would have been willing to pay three months ago, but for "freeze" imposed due to "economic conditions"...still unspecified. At one time we looked at Compaq and Hp along with Dell. In last year have become a Dell shop and they work hard to keep us happy. We are no big shakes, but I sense the boys in Round Rock see this period as a good chance to buy market share.

But at what price? these are laptops we now won't buy six months from now when prices have firmed and margins are better.
