FED won't lower rates now. Markets healed themselves on bogus DELL optimism and excuse-to-buy mentality.

So much of market moves are driven by programmed trading today that the fundamentals are really of secondary importance.

BTW, I fully expect the Chinese to take their sweet time returning the American soldiers. It's troubling but the markets are blissfully ignorant as usual, until they all run for the door at the same time.

The Chinese-US standoff is like the CA energy crisis. Real issues with real economic impact that are non-events for Funds that have too much $ laying around to throw at stocks.

When we have some real genuine positive news, I'll be happy to be bullish on it.
We are far from there now.

OK, SOX is trying the breakout and we are at the top of the gap. The choices are:

(1) Failure
(2) Ugly short squeeze

Place yer bets...

<<Had been away for a while. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought that the Feds have delivered a widely anticipated surprise rate cut!>>

When I got off da plane, and checked the closing quotes, I thought that myself. OTOH, when you run the printing presses this fast, "we don't care rate cuts no more!"
