Ice Hotel Now Too Hot to Handle

QUEBEC CITY (Reuters) - North America's first ice hotel was a red-hot
success in its first year but now it's too hot to handle.

It's about to be dismantled before it starts to melt on its guests.

The Ice Hotel in Canada's oldest city opened to wide publicity in January
and attracted 1,500 guests and -- three times more than expected, its
owners said on Wednesday.

The hotel, built of 4,500 tonnes of snow and 250 tonnes of ice, will be torn
down by a bulldozer on Thursday. It will be rebuilt in time for next year's
season.

The hotel, which cost C$750,000 ($478,000) to build, attracted 40,000
visitors.

"It has been a success all the way. We are more than satisfied and we
envisage with enthusiasm next season," owner Francis Leonard told
Reuters.

The hotel's facilities included a bar, a cinema and two art galleries
containing ice sculptures with Canadian Arctic themes, as well as
executive suites.

The cost -- C$150 ($96) per person a night -- included a hot breakfast and
a sleeping bag on top of animal fur for the ice bed.

Guests who braved the chilly conditions came from all over the world,
including the United States, South Africa, Japan, France, Germany and
Britain.

Next year's edition will be four times bigger, about the size of two football
fields, and will be able to accommodate 85 guests.

The ice hotel concept was imported from Sweden, where what was billed
as the world's first ice hotel was constructed about a decade ago in
Jukkasjarvi.

parking lot, and shipping bays, are great ways to gather information. Thanks. LU just completed two very large buildings and TLAB is in the process of building a brand new corporate headquarters down the road from here, I have watch to see what happens while will I drive by them.
