OK. What's your solution? The Chinese have said they will not release without an apology. (BUT they also haven't said they WILL release the crew if we do apologize.)

And why apologize? The US plane was in international airspace at the time of the incident. The Chinese government does not get to dictate who and what flies there. If they think they do, it's time they were taught differently. The Chinese jet either rammed the US plane or engaged in very dangerous flying that effectively caused the collision. How else can a slow prop plane bring down a military jet?
