david, great work

if you look at some of gfs_1999 prior posts

you'll notice he copies comments from a variety of sources, but i don't believe its intentional plagerism, simply sharing of information and market commentary

however, gfs_1999, if you read this please be aware
its good form to always state your source if its not obvious

cheers

Who did gfs_1999 copy this one from ?? Message 15623138

No reference back to the originator. Maybe just an oversight, or gfs_1999 didn't know to, or felt it was not important to list the source. Maybe it's truly an original post.

Nice job David. I was so impressed by it that I book-marked the analysis. Having seen many of gfs_1999's posts I am quite sure he wasn't trying to take credit for creation. He posts material germane to the subject area. Yours certainly qualified.

You should have been credited. It is good to know the originator and I can understand your desire for credit. The fruits of your labor were certainly borne out today. Good job.

davidk555: Was this also your work?

Message 15588070

Although the guidelines to this thread are no longer posted, I would hope that everyone that post on MDD agrees, when posting someone else’s work, one should always link to the work (when possible) or at the very least identify the work as someone else’s and attribute the work to the author or creator whether it be commentary or graphics (charts etc.)

In the past via pmail I have asked gfs_1999 more than once to identify the work of others he is posting. gfs_1999 has been posting Jerry Favors work for some time and nine out of ten times he cuts off the title that ID’s the analysis as Jerry Favors’. I have looked the other way as I figured most folks on this thread knew it was Favors’ work.

I noticed when your work was posted and not ID'd, kudos were bestowed upon gfs_1999 for “his” analysis, but not one reply came from him pointing out the work was someone else’s.

I find this inexcusable...

Regards,
LG
