clik sounds ...

yes sir .. just so happens I have several cures for that difficulty ....
as I suppose the sound to which you refer is NOT speaker generated, but is coming from the piezo dude in the gut of the case .....

1) put in ear plugs
2) rip out the piezo (sp) speaker
3) put the case in the closet and get extention cables for monitor, kb, and mouse
4) go to a hypnotist and get him to have your subconscious put your conscious on ignore for THAT sound ...

if these aren't sufficient ..
let me know and I'll find some more ......
LOL

Mark

Control Panel/Sounds/Sound Tab/Windows Explorer/Uncheck start navigation.

Ed

Not sure if you have the sound tab in 98 but you'll find start navigation easily enough regardless.

Hi Mark,

That clicking sound really bugged me when I switched to IE from Netscape a couple of months ago. I couldn't make it stop, but after a while I've grown attached to it. I think it's valuable because when a web page or something doesn't respond to your click, you at least know that you DID click on the link, and you don't need to compound the problems by continuing to click a few more times. It just fades into the background in time and you hardly notice it.

It should be optional, however, and very likely is.
