Monty - I don't understand.

By similar logic, if you do my income tax and I pay you in stacks of paper, then would the consideration be valued at the value of these pieces of paper?

What about if I paid you in embossed metal slugs?

How would the answers change if the pieces of paper had Andrew Jackson and the words "legal tender" and some fancy engraving?

How about the slugs, if we called them quarters (a base metal).

Then how does this extrapolate to coin metal of any sort or denomination?
