Prog - don't get your back up. In most real-world applications the processors are not working hard - people over-size to assure peak load capability which is rarely if ever seen. But TPC is not meaningless - it does a good job of characterizing a broad range of system interactions. Going through the details of the full disclosure can give you a good read on how those interactions might play out in a real-world load, even if the TPC results themselves don't predict that performance very well.
