Hi Gary,
You may be right. Since employment is a lagging indicator I would expect we will see some further decline in the jobs picture. The ECRI indicator is at times difficult to interpret. I believe it has been at the 120.7 level all March. The service economy is still strong. Some areas in manufacturing will start improving this quarter as their inventory levels are reduced. If the dollar would favor us with a decline to the 111 to 112 area, I would be fairly confident we would avoid a recession.IMHO
