JLA,
W. had better watch out.

This string of pollution stories -- 'Bush reneges on CO pledges', 'Bush says no to Kyoto accords', 'Bush rolls back arsenic standards in drinking water', 'Agriculture Dept proposes ending salmonella testing in school lunches' -- has the smell of a story with legs, the kind that forms people's impressions of an administration.

Now, anyone who looked at W's Texas record on the environment knew that he doesn't believe pesky environmental regs should ever be allowed to get in the way of business profits. But I bet a lot of people who voted for a nice guy "compassionate conservative" didn't realize that.

W, for his part, is learning that some stories don't play in Washington they same way they do in Texas.
