Japan is only part of the picture and I didn't mean to emphasize it.

A "strong dollar" sounds so much better than a "weak dollar." Who wants to be weak?

In reality, it means our goods are more expensive so we can't export them, while their goods are cheaper so we buy them. Good for consumers, bad for manufacturers - although they do benefit from cheap components.

I'm not making a value judgment, I am asking questions.
