Your ignorance is really appalling to compare Taiwan and China with UK and US. LOL

Off topic - (important) tax idea with MNX index and options.

Just noticed this while trying to finish reading some of the Barrons issue that came out around a week ago :

The Striking Price

APRIL 2, 2001

Just ahead of filing with Uncle Sam, option traders need a reminder that the
MNX, the mini-NDX, index and options and the QQQ unit trust and options are
treated differently for tax purposes. The MNX is taxed as an index (60% of capital
gains are treated as long-term profit and 40% as short-term profit) and the QQQ,
the Nasdaq 100 unit trust, is taxed as an equity (subject to normal capital gains
treatment for stocks).
