<< If there weren't such stubbornness here in the U.S., we wouldn't have elected a bitter
contingent of Cold War hawks into office to seek new enemies and to taunt them into
stirring up old hatreds.>>

If the jerk were still in office the Chinese would have shot this plane down without a second thought and then claimed it flew into the path of their missiles. THE jerk would then apologize for our service personnel terrible behavior and sent Big Al or Barbara Streisand to pick up the check for the DNC.

Regards Ken

At least Rush had the guts to print what Diane Feinstein said "personal apology to China" --didn't see it in the LA Times...I will ask again: HOW CAN ANY AMERICAN SAY SUCH A THING WHEN WE HAVE 24 HOSTAGES over in China....

DiFi's Personal Apology to China
rushlimbaugh.com

We played a sound bite from Senator Dianne Feinstein on Thursday's program. She delivered a really emotional, almost urgent apology to the Chinese.

It sounded as though she was insistent that they hear her apologize, which made El Rushbo wonder: why would DiFi would feel such an urgent need to communicate her personal apology to the ChiComs? After doing some Nexis research, we have come up with the answer.

A Los Angeles Times piece, dated Friday, March 28th, 1997, had the headline: "Feinstein, Husband, Hold Strong China Connections."

What is contained inside that article about DiFi's husband's business dealings with China goes along way toward explaining why the "senior Senator from California" needs to send such a clear signal to Beijing. You can hear Rush read from the article in the audio link below.

Yeah right, my point was that if Chinese spy planes were colliding with our fighters 150 miles off the coast of California, how do you think we would react?

We wouldn't keep the crew hostage. We might or might not be pissed but we really would not have justification to be so. The fighter is far more manuverable and was in no danger until it put itself in danger.
