Having expressed my frustration, this inaction by the fed, while short term destructive, is going to give us years of benefits by destroying any possibility of inflation. I wonder if Greenspan thinks that our consumers are so strong, that he can be more heavy handed in a down turn than makes sense. It's the only thing that explains this I think: he is very confident that the consumer won't break.

Gene,

The consumer is breaking. Watch the March sales numbers for retailers come out. The consumer is breaking more on fear of job security then lack of money to spend. I know the consumer confidence shows high but I do not see that here.

So who is the chip supplier to Ciena?
