Joe, Tom,

I seriously agree. With both the side effects not
properly studied and the lack of serious initiative
by government beurocracies.

Reality is that today these people have no viable solution
and you heard me mention the morphine case.

While each of us can contribute and few of us do to the
prioritization of goverment focus - the reality is that
these people are in pain right now.

You said it Joe. Easing of pain is one of our most widely
accepted principles as a human priority.

Possible and equally unproven side effects (except for
the smoking aspect) are insufficent reason in my view to
withold the ability to see if marijauna can ease pain in
extreme cases right now.

I will not be party because of my views about what society
should or should not be doing, to witholding an individual
from exercising an action on their own bodies in hopes
of easing severe pain.

Period.

Worse yet, I challenge anyone to show me clinical evidence of the efficacy and safety of marijuana. Oh sure, there's plenty of annecdotal evidence out there, but so there was for Pennsaid as well (a 4,000 patient phase IV study, in fact).

I am walking proof...."I'm no stupider than I was in the 70's in fact I feel downright brilliant when smokin! ROTFLMAO
