Andrew, maybe the gov't would let these babies die on their own....so many companies have bit the dust over the last several years.....yes LU & XRX are not just ordinary companies, however, I believe the publics' perception of *bankruptcies* has changed.....they just don't seem to sting as much anymore....perhaps the gov't will let them slip under the waves on their own.....

Andrew, my guess is that there would not be a gov't bail out of LU or XRX just a severe dose of tough love. mike

note, i'm not predicting they WILL go belly-up...i'm only saying one should keep a close eye on them, as they are good candidates.

i expect the govt. to intervene in the PG&E case too...nationalization looms. and i think you're right that if any other very large corporations are threatening to file, the govt. will quickly drop all pretenses of a free market.
