Tue 10 Apr 2001 News Release
Mr. Toby Chu reports
SE Global Equities Inc., a provider of technology and financial resources
for international investors, has entered into a strategic partnership with
the German company Equity Trade Center Deutschland GmbH (ETC). Under the
terms of the agreement, ETC will act as a European marketing representative
for SE Global's direct access trading platform, SE Global Trade. In
addition, ETC has opened a German-based trading firm, which will
exclusively use SE Global's proprietary direct access trading products.
"We are excited to join forces with SE Global to market these innovative
and powerful direct access trading products," says Bruno Steinhauser,
managing director of ETC. "Our team has carefully assessed other trading
platforms on the market and based on our selection criteria, SE Global
Trade best meets our needs."
Trading firm
ETC has recently hired 10 industry traders with extensive experience in
both stocks and financial futures. Each professional trader will specialize
in a specific market sector and will be financed by ETC's own capital.
ETC's new trading facility will be connected to Global TeleSystem's high
performance backbone communications network. With the SE Global Trade
software operating on a state-of-the-art computer network platform, ETC's
trading facility is anticipated to operate at optimum levels for today's
volatile and fast moving markets.
Marketing network
ETC will market SE Global Trade directly to end-users and private asset
management companies. In addition, when launched, ETC's German language Web
site will be used to market the SE Global Trade platform and related
services to German-speaking countries in Europe -- primarily Switzerland,
Austria and Germany.
SE Global provides direct access trading software, including SE Global
Trade, and market data through a formal licensing and worldwide
distribution agreement with Direct Access Financial Corp. As a
next-generation trading platform, SE Global Trade allows for almost
instantaneous trade execution and confirmation.
"For SE Global, this agreement represents revenue opportunities and
demonstrates our ability to expand into important European markets," said
Toby Chu, SE Global president and chief executive officer. "Additionally,
this initiative illustrates our commitment to aggressively market SE Global
Trade to international markets."
About ETC
Based in Germany, ETC is a newly formed private company, which is wholly
owned by a major venture and investment company trust based in the United
States. ETC has an initial 2.6 million German marks ($1.22-million (U.S.))
of paid-in capital. The company is in the process of completing the
formation of a team of experienced traders who hold a wide range of
marketing and financial expertise.
