Ref < Gordon Moore Trust Fund >

Gordon Moore sold practically no Intel stock during the 30 years since Intel went public.

Now that his shares are in a trust fund, most likely he no longer has any control over how the stock is handled. To fund the trust activities some Intel stock will have to be sold. Hopefully the trust is not going to start dumping huge chunks of Intel shares at this point in time.

Bob Noyce, the other founder of Intel got divorced in the 70's ,and his wife got half his shares. She promptly dumped a huge chunk of Intel shares on the market, depressing the Intel stock for several months.

In this Mama Bear market, a huge dump by Gordon's trust would be catastrophic for other Intel investors. Hopefully the trust exercises the necessary restraint to divest the holding gradually.

I would add, on Gordon Moore's behalf that this is over a hundred times the amount that funded the Rockefeller foundation.
