Kap: I don't know what would it take for Hammer speculations to end. AMD has made the x86-64 spec public long time ago. K8 _has_ SSE2. Read the spec or go to the x86-64.org website and download gcc generating x86-64 instructions including SSE2 or download and build an x86-64 Linux kernel for that matter.

Thanks for the reassurance. But I wonder why AMD is telling this nonsense about not having decided about it? Probably the typical PR blah but IMO completely unnecessary. I really hate how AMD handle these things. E.g. we are guessing for almost a year now what performance enhancements Palomino will have. On source at AMD says this, another says that and denies it a day later, and the next says just the opposite again. Sigh.
