Jim Muskett, Last week I bought a cpq presario (just the cpu) for $550.00 less a $50 mail-in rebate at my local radio shack here about 70 miles north of Tampa, Florida. Of course I asked him how sales were and he informed me that I was the second computer the store sold this year!! He indicated that at this store sales fell through the floor this year etc. etc. He said that sales across the board stank so far and he hadn't seen anything like it during his 6 1/2 years working for radio shack. Take it for what it is worth but it seems to me that Greenspan is way out of touch with what is going on out there. I also watched the interview Mario Buttaroma conducted with Jack Welsh recently which aired yesterday. Jack Welsh stated that today's economy is just like the economy he inherited when he became the ceo of ge twenty years ago. He said we have come full circle. Demand has dropped through the floor and resembles the level of demand in 1981!!! Finally, keep your eyes and ears open for an emergency Fed meeting this coming week. I have reason to believe that such a meeting will occur.
