Eerily similar? Well I kinda like "hauntingly familiar" myself. Yup, had the same 25 year old making undeserved millions syndrome. Masters of the Universe all, until the party was over and they had to fight off Abdulla for a job drivin' taxi's on 125th street.

I like marginmikes idea, SOIZE matters. <g>

We had the same thing here in Northern Virginia. We moved here in 1988, and were renting because we just couldn't afford to buy. Everyone was telling us what a great investment real estate was. But back in New Orleans we had just gone through a real estate bust because of the oil bust. So I would tell people that housing prices can go down and they would laugh at me. Then came the bust, which took a long time to work out here.

The house we bought in 1999 sold for 10% more than it did in 1989. That's not a great investment.
