What does that mean Les? Do they lend money on third and fourth motgages hoping that the home owner will default and then clean up on all the hidden fees and punishments etc., when they foreclose?

You're right, there are tradeoffs. I hope it works out. When we switched from renting to owning, after the tax deduction we were not paying any more, had a much nicer house, and were building equity. I wish the same for everyone.
