I've thought about that too. I think that they charge the vendor 5%, so they still make money anyway. I resent this , since it raises the price of everything 5%.

Sotheby's used to accept AMEX for about 2 month's. I would charge 50,000-100,000 purchases get 30 day's from Sotheby and 30 days from amex. I also got the miles. I assume everyone else did the same thing and Sotheby's stoped. I take Amex begrudgingly, because on a $70,000 picture I dont want to pay 3%. i have had several clients INSIST though.
