Could this delay of the masses in the technology heap of W-CDMA actually be trying to completely "By-Pass Qualcomm"? >> "Trying" to bypass? ..... Sure ! But... succeeding with a bypass ? .... No ! ( Too tough to bypass vital features such as: smoothe handoff, power control, etc. ) " Well, there in lies my consternation... If they are going to "Try" to bypass.. Sure! as you state... Then what would the affect on QCOM stock price be in such a case!! Succeeding with a bypass, would entail the Courtroom.. As we have seen Infineon/Micron and the Memory Industry as a whole with Rambus. When the entire 3GPP shows up with their bevy of patents. And claim they are not using QCOM's implementation of such... Let's look at IDC.. They have "power control".. "Spread spectrum adaptive power control system and method" #5,835,527 Handoff "Seamless handoff system and method" # 6,122,511 Etc.. Now, you may counter that this art is "vague" etc.. However, It's is going to require a visit to the courtroom to get it validated.. IMO.. Everyone seems to be at a loss as to WHY everyone does not simply adopt 1X/CDMA2000.. Because they are going to have to pay the same royalty rate anyway.. It may be that they don't anticipate paying the same royalty rate for W-CDMA.. Becuase maybe they don't anticipate paying Qualcomm at all for W-CDMA.. Believe me, I am not trying to spread FUD among QCOM investors.. I am just someone who does not become "religionized" in a certain equity.. In other words.. "I am not in it for the Home Team.. I am in it for the Money". <If they had really succeeded in overturning the Q's CDMA IPR, then they wouldn't have to pay ANY royalty at all; (From the Cabal's point of view, that would seem a sufficient incentive for the legal challenges to date)> Yes, that is my point.. Their goal is to not pay QCOM at all.. A complete by-pass.. So that means they will drag this one through the courts for years!! Have you seen how long IDCC court battle with Ericsson has been going on? And in my opinon.. The IDCC agreements with Matsushita and Infineon should not be "disregarded" as a "non-issue".. JMO PCSTEL
