Del, your facts are anything but facts. Many organizations provide funding to think tanks such as the Cato Institute.

The Washington Post might even get some advertisement dollars from Mobile Oil. Does that make what they say wrong, or manipulated by the funding? Your inferences that all capitalistic endeavors somehow create an environment of fraud are nonsense. Even if they are true (which I am giving that website the benefit of the doubt on).

I'm sure there's an old saying which goes something like this. "if you can't refute the evidence with facts or knowledge, attack the source of the evidence with innuendo and rumors of manipulation".

Weak, very weak debate technique.

From the VAST amount of literature I've read over the years (from both sides of this issue), the anecdotal evidence is the earth is warming slightly, just as it has since the last ice age, and there is no reason to think this is a negative thing for life on planet earth. As matter of fact, just the opposite is true. As the earth warms, it's capable of sustaining more plants and animals.

In other words, we should be glad that it's warming and not freezing.

The Kyoto protocols were simply a radical attempt to transfer America's wealth to underdeveloped nations. A Global redistribution plan, of the left wing socialistic American Democrat type. If they were really concerned about the environment, they would have limited emissions in China, India and every other underdeveloped nation on earth. Why don't you try and take a guess as to why they didn't? Because it's just not fair the United States is so wealthy and uses so much energy. (can you hear the violin's playing?)

I'm proud of Bush for tossing those radical protocols out the window. Now, we can stop this Kyoto charade and get on with a serious effort to clean up the environment. Like planting more trees, or shifting to building more nuclear power plants. Or more importantly, by exporting our freedom and liberty which will eventually create more wealth. Because, the wealthier a nation, the cleaner their environment becomes.

So, save your spin for Dan Rather. He might be able to use it at his next Democrat party fund raiser.
