My grandfather talked of that storm until the day he died. He was duck hunting on an island in the river behind our house when the wind came up. He said the temp dropped so fast that he went from sitting without a coat to having freezing rain sticking to his coat in just minutes. Less then 1/2 mile from home and he said he was almost covered in a sheet of ice just from the walk home. Bad news

That's horrible! A freak accident that took many lives.

Did you ever hear about the flood in Penns. many years ago? It was a terrible thing with many people drowning.
