I haven't heard of many slaves who choose to remain slaves. Probably not. That's not the point. The point is that we shouldn't impose our values on others. Slavery is an extreme example to illustrate the principle--we should at least take a moment to consider if they want to be freed before we ride in on our white horse to save them. That's all. I realize that a small portion of the population operates off of principle. I don't expect to convert any pragmatists. I just feel like I need to wave the principle flag every now and again. Karen
