Dan3,

<Cool. With a little luck, Intel will face years of punishing tariffs, fines, and restrictions.>

"Luck" is a word a lot of AMDers will be using quite a bit this coming year.

AMDers should focus more on AMD's legal actions this past week. According to Intel officials, one silver lining in this rather cloudy economic downturn is that strong companies like Intel will come out stronger, while weaker ones, like AMD will come out weaker. AMD's suing Alcatel is anecdotal evidence of this happening. If AMD had the financial strength of Intel, I doubt that they would be suing one of their customers. Obviously, AMD must be feeling the pinch. AMD's loss, is Intel's gain. While this is the most visible instance of this occurring, I am sure there are other more subtle and less visible instances which will further widen the gap between Intel and AMD during these hard times.
