There is, I assume you know, extensive slavery in the Sudan right now, today.

Assume a body of slaves is able to communicate to the outside world -- the UN, the US, you choose, that they wish to be free but have no chance to mount a revolution or gain their freedom because they are kept under tight control by armed troops. And there aren't enough of them to do a nonviolent revolution as was possible in India and South Africa.

There's your scenario. Do we walk away? Do something? If something, what?
