Dave,

Oil production in the ANWR involves pipelines, roads, spills, leaks, contamination of water, noise, damaging permafrost, subsidence, and disrupting wildlife in one of the last true virgin wildernesses on earth.

I worked as a geologist for many years, and know first hand that oil development is very dirty business.
